Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004) rose above her direct experience as a cancer patient and through her simple and powerful idea to do a lemonade stand to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer, she changed the world.
Today her legacy is carried on by her parents, Liz and Jay Scott, and their Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Alex's story is told in the book, Alex and the Amazing Lemonade Stand. This book is the featured "One Book" of a grant project coordinated by the Mount Vernon City Library and supported by numerous community partners. We encourage you to read the book and attend one or more of the events in Skagit County featuring the co-author of the book and mother of Alex, Liz Scott, March 9-11, 2009.
