Pictures from Lunch in a Box with the Lockes

On May 31, 2009 the Foundation for Early Learning hosted Lunch in a Box with the Lockes, a celebration of Mona Locke's contribution to the world of early learning. Over 130 guests --- friends, family and colleagues joined us for the event at the Triple Door including Governor Gregoire and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke. 

The celebration included a performance by the 5th Avenue Daffodils, a new performance group that treated the audience to a medley of Broadway show tunes. The event was capped off with Mona sharing her thoughts with the crowd. She encouraged those in attendance to continue advancing the field of early learning in our state while she was living and working in "the other Washington."

In addition to founding the Foundation for Early Learning, Mona's contribution to early learning includes co-chairing the Governor's commission on Early Learning, and serving on the boards of the Foundation for Early Learning and Thrive by Five Washington.
